Devil Fruit:
Japanese Name: Kidล Kidล no Mi
English Name: Orbit Orbit no Mi
Meaning: The ability to create and control an orbital field around the user. This is an area-effect ability and takes effect only on objects. The user is able to control the size and speed of the orbital field and rotation within the limited area.
Background:
Yagiza grew up in the Kingdom of Alabasta, under the care of it's Royal Army. His father, who was a skilled navigator, left to venture and map the undiscovered seas, leaving his son behind. Under the tutelage of the Army, Yagiza trained in swordsmanship. While he loved the way of the sword, his father's reputation inspired him to study astronomy and navigation in order to become like him. When news reached the Kingdom that his father has met his end in the New World, Yagiza packed his things and fled to the seas to continue his father's journey through starting his own. Over time, Yagiza mastered his Ittoryu ("One Sword Style") and grew as a proficient navigator.
Personality:
Despite his reserved appearance, Yagiza complains a lot about his devil fruit powers, since he prefers to only use his Ittoryu. He often jokes with other members of the crew, asking them if they would trade items with him in return for his devil fruit powers. He worries a lot about getting old, and often plucks a hair from his head and examining its color and freaking out if it is grayish in tone. Apart from all that, in a fight he is often angered when his enemy is strong enough that he is forced to use his devil fruit powers. He also has a habit of criticizing other swordsmen and their style. Because of this, he plays the role of an examiner in a fight against swords-people, where after the fight is over, if they 'passed' then he leaves them alone and if they have 'failed', then he claims their sword as his trophy calling them "unfit of the sword they wield."
Fighthing:
As he was taught, Yagiza strongly believes that "one sword held right is stronger that a million swords." Ironically, because of his devil fruit ability which allows him to control multiple swords simultaneously in orbit, he has been dubbed "Yagiza of the Hundred Blades". He has mastered his Ittoryu (or so he claims), and relies on his devil fruit as a backup measure. When using his devil fruit powers, he arranges his collection of swords (his trophies from past defeated enemies) in an orbital field, where he attacks in a rotatory motion or hurls the swords at his opponents. In this way, his abilities allow for both offense and defense opportunities. Still, he always wields his own sword in his hands as his last line of defense, and his trump card attack.
